UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility with a 24-hour ED, Level IV trauma center, Level III stroke center, 10-bed ICU, maternity unit, radiation therapy center, and stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

• Coordinate and administer care to a unit specific patient population using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
• Provide clinical supervision to clinical, professional, and auxiliary staff to ensure continuous delivery of quality patient care.
• Work cooperatively with appropriate medical staff to accomplish hospital and departmental goals.
• Manage departmental activities in accordance with hospital policy and ensure care consistent with physician orders and treatment protocols.
• Oversee implementation of a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.

• Degree as a Registered Nurse from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Texas Licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire before providing direct patient care.
• ACLS within 6 months of employment.
