About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist engineering business within a growing Load Bank division, working at the interface between customers, sales and technical teams. As Load Bank Sales Engineer, you will be a key point of contact for customers, managing technical enquiries, understanding requirements and identifying appropriate, commercially viable solutions.

You will produce preliminary designs, quotations and tenders, helping to convert opportunities into profitable orders. Key responsibilities will include:
Managing customer enquiries by telephone, email and face-to-face Understanding technical requirements and developing suitable costed solutions Preparing accurate quotations and tenders and following these through to order Providing pre-sales technical expertise and product guidance Developing strong relationships with new and existing customers Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities Processing orders and ensuring accurate information is passed to design and manufacturing teams Maintaining accurate customer, quotation and order information within the ERP system Keeping customers informed throughout the order process Undertaking occasional customer and site visits in the UK and potentially overseas.

About you You will combine strong technical knowledge with a commercial, customer-focused approach. You will ideally have previous experience in load bank sales or a related technical sales environment, such as diesel generators. You will have an HNC in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent apprenticeship and a good understanding of electrical concepts including voltage, current and active/reactive power. You should be confident interpreting technical information and translating this into clear solutions for customers.

Knowledge of the data centre sector, high-power or high-voltage applications, or experience working with large OEMs, contractors or international customers would be advantageous. About the organisation You will be joining an established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in high-power electrical solutions used across electricity generation and distribution, industrial automation, marine, telecoms and rail. The organisation is investing in the continued expansion of its Load Bank division, with an enhanced product range and a focus on growing its presence within the battery and generator testing market.
