The Finance Specialist will support the UK Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. The role will be responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable control, processing sales and purchase invoices, supporting tax accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and tax rules and regulations.

Monday to Thursday: 9am to 5:30pm and Friday: 9am to 3pm
⦁ Salary: £28,000 rising to £32,000 after probation
⦁ 21 days holiday, increasing with length of service, plus bank holidays

Finance Specialist Responsibilities:
⦁ Produce accurate weekly and monthly financial reports, including management reporting packs, financial statements, budget performance and cost monitoring.
⦁ Support month-end procedures, ensuring deadlines are met and identifying areas of financial or control risk.
⦁ Manage and monitor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, reconciliations and ledger control.
⦁ Prepare and manage weekly and monthly payment runs, alongside bank and cashbook reconciliations.
⦁ Formulate VAT returns, corporation tax and deferred tax computations, ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
⦁ Prepare quarterly and annual audit files, providing supporting evidence and liaising with auditors and external stakeholders.
⦁ Assist with budget planning, monitoring and financial control, including identifying and improving internal processes and controls.
⦁ Maintain fixed asset records and work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes.
Finance Specialist
Skills and Experience:
⦁ Self-motivated with a proactive and hands-on approach to work.
⦁ Excellent Excel skills and strong overall IT capability.
⦁ Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial administration.
⦁ Accounting-related qualification or degree preferred.
⦁ Previous SAP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
⦁ Excellent numerical skills and commercial/business acumen.
⦁ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
⦁ Confident working within cross-functional and international teams, with the ability to support, guide and influence others
