Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £41,000 – £46,000 (+ shift allowance, overtime OTE £45,000+), 37.5 hours per week, rotating shifts (06:00–14:00 | 14:00–22:00 | 22:00–06:00)

Permanent, full time position.

Interaction Recruitment is supporting a well‑established manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and safety‑focused organisation, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently through a combination of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to breakdowns
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on plant and production equipment
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise output
• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards and company procedures
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting audits/compliance

• Engineering qualification or relevant experience
• Background in manufacturing, production, or heavy industry
• Ability to work a rotating shift pattern (days, lates, nights)
• Strong fault‑finding and hands‑on maintenance skills
• Desirable: welding, fabrication, or plant maintenance experience
