CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator ? Milling

£36,000 to £40,000 per annum - DOE

Day Shift / 7am to 5pm - Monday to Thursday

Atherstone

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established engineering manufacturer for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator ? Milling to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist with strong Heidenhain programming, setting and operating experience, particularly those with a background in machining medium to large fabrications and castings.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating universal bed-type milling machines using a Heidenhain control system. The successful candidate will have solid experience with 3 and 4-axis machining and be confident working with a variety of materials, including:

  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminium
  • Mild steel
  • Cast iron

You will also need previous experience machining medium to large fabrications and castings.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or extensive relevant machining experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience producing precision components to high standards
  • Good knowledge of work-holding methods and tooling
  • Understanding of cutting parameters and machining processes
  • Experience programming directly on Heidenhain control systems
  • Experience working with universal milling heads
  • Ability to carry out your own inspection and work to tight tolerances
  • Experience working within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Experience machining large fabrications and castings
  • Safe use of overhead cranes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A flexible, reliable and team-focused approach
Hours

39 hours per week / 4-day working week

  • Monday to Wednesday: 7:00am to 5:00pm
  • Thursday: 7:00am to 4:00pm
  • Friday:
    Overtime available, subject to workload
  • There is also a requirement to be flexible with shifts where necessary to provide holiday cover.
