Overview

CSO is looking for a Therapeutic Mentor/Therapeutic Training and Support Specialist for our Family Support Services team in Athol. The main focus of these services is to alleviate the youth's mental health issues and strengthen the family structures and supports.

• Provide community-based direct care services to children and families as part of the Family Support Services Program.
• Deliver Therapeutic Mentoring: structured, one-to-one, strength-based support services between a therapeutic mentor and a youth for daily living, social, and communication needs.
• Support, coach, and train youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and appropriate relations with peers and adults in recreational and social activities as per a behavioral health treatment plan.
• Supervise interactions and engage the youth in discussions about strategies for effective handling of peer interactions.
• Engage the youth in community activities aligned with treatment goals (anticipatory guidance, role playing, skill acquisition, social and recreational activities, etc.).

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a human services field plus two years of experience working with children
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
