Job Description & How to Apply Below

Maven Baseball is an Atlanta-based sports tech company on a mission to give athletes clarity on where they stand and a pathway to maximize their potential. Our Maven Labs combine 3D motion capture, force plates, computer vision and Maven's proprietary algorithms to analyze a player's swing or delivery in just 12 reps, producing personalized Maven Scores and data-driven training plans delivered through the Maven app.

Professional and College teams as well as elite training facilities across the country already rely on Maven.

Next up is bringing the same insight that elite programs use to the millions of amateur players and families who've never had access to it, and taking Maven into new sports. We're a small team of athletes, engineers and builders who do a lot with a little, move fast and own the result. If you want to help build a company, not just join one, this is your shot.

Maven Baseball seeks a highly-motivated early-career Financial Analyst & Staff Accountant (new grad to ~2 years of experience) to handle Maven's day-to-day accounting and help build the financial models that guide our growth. This full-time, Atlanta-based position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works with outside accounting advisors who review the books. It's a chance to learn how a growing sports tech company really works, and to grow your role as Maven grows.

WHAT

YOU'LL DO
  • Record transactions, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and support a timely monthly close.
  • Send invoices and track collections for lab partners, assessments and app subscriptions.
  • Process vendor payments and employee expense reports, and support payroll and 1099 processing.
  • Calculate revenue shares and commissions owed to lab partners and contractors.
  • Track Maven Lab hardware and equipment as fixed assets.
  • Update Maven's financial model and build analyses on pricing, lab unit economics and subscriber growth.
  • Prepare monthly reports and dashboards on revenue, spending and cash for the leadership team.
  • Help prepare materials for Board meetings, partner negotiations and our outside CPA.
  • Find ways to make our finance processes faster, more accurate and more automated.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience; new grads are encouraged to apply - we hire for problem-solving ability and trajectory, not years. Accounting or finance internships are a plus.
  • Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals (debits and credits, accruals, the three financial statements).
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience building a model from scratch is a plus.
  • Obsessive attention to detail and a habit of double-checking your work.
  • Wired to solve hard problems and relentlessly take initiative to advance the ball.
  • Ability to clearly explain numbers to non-finance teammates.
  • Excitement to be part of a tight-knit team tackling new problems every day.
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA, or a baseball or sports background, is a plus.
