An established hospital-based cardiac surgery program is seeking 1-2 experienced Physician Assistants to provide inpatient and operative coverage. The ideal candidate will be proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), experienced in cardiac surgical patient management, and available to start immediately.

• Setting:
  Inpatient / Hospital-based (no trauma designation)
• Average caseload:
  Operate on 2 patients/day; round on 5–12 patients/day (ICU and floor); includes consults
• EMR:
  Cerner

• Weekdays:
  Monday–Friday, 8–10-hour in-house shifts
• Night call: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Weekend call:
  Friday 6:00 PM – Monday 6:00 AM
• In-house rounding:
  Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM

• First assist in cardiac surgery
• Retrieve vascular tissues for bypass conduits (endoscopic vein harvesting required)
• Chest tube insertion
• ICU and floor rounding and coordination of care
• Diagnose and treat post‑operative patients
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Write prescriptions and perform suture removal

• NCCPA Certification – Required
• Active New Jersey or Compact State License – Required
• 2–3+ years of cardiac surgery experience – Required
• Proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) – Required
• Immediate availability – Required
• Experience with Cerner EMR – Preferred

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days
• Mileage and toll reimbursement provided
• Lodging available for the right candidate
• Compensation:
