Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- Minimum 4 years of health information management experience in a hospital setting required
The Health Information Management Document Capture Team Lead is responsible for coordinating the work performed by the Document Capture Technicians. Coordinates functions to ensure all patient records are properly processed with all physician documentation, nursing documentation, monitoring unprocessed electronic work queues daily and assigning team members for processing. Responsible for coordination and troubleshooting of Electronic Medical Records equipment, training, mentoring, and educating new team members.
Monitors productivity and quality measures and assigns tasks through electronic task queues for all team members and performs other duties as assigned.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QualificationsEDUCATION:
High School diploma required. Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: RHIT registry preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 4 years of health information management experience in a hospital setting required.
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
Work EnvironmentPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. This position requires lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
Reporting RelationshipThis position reports to department leadership and leads work and oversees incumbents as assigned.
