Job Summary

Reduce the impact of information security incidents and system compromises through security monitoring, incident investigation, tabletop exercises, and “purple team” engagements. Contribute to documentation and playbooks, assess endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure, and uphold all local, state, and federal regulations concerning security and data privacy.

Responsibilities
  • Perform security incident investigations and reporting according to the Incident Response Plan (IRP).
  • Conduct industry best‑practice security and data privacy assessments for third‑party vendors, contractors, consultants, auditors, and applications.
  • Contribute to network and application penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and patch management strategy.
  • Monitor and advise on information security and data privacy issues related to systems and data flows.
  • Conduct security and data privacy research to stay current on latest events, issues, and trends.
  • Assist user and security posture awareness for IT teams and stakeholder partners.
  • Participate in breach analysis activities to identify root causes.
  • Support disaster and business continuity recovery planning and execution.
  • Analyze and provide input for cloud access and monitoring security models, including protection recommendations for IT architecture.
  • Provide support for SOX, PCI, CPNI, and other data privacy regulatory compliance.
  • Actively participate in red team / blue team engagements and threat modeling activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in Software Development, Network Administration, or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience securing applications (frontend/backend, SaaS), servers, or networks.
  • Experience in event‑log monitoring and analysis of computer systems.
  • Experience with industry security frameworks (NIST, CIS, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK) and data handling requirements (PII, PHI, CPNI, PCI).
  • Experience in information security or data privacy investigation.
  • 2–3 years of Splunk or SIEM experience preferred.
  • POne of SOX compliance or mobile device management (MDM) experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Proficiency in reviewing logs and system activity to identify critical events.
  • Strong analytical and evidence‑based decision making.
  • Intelligence gathering on threats and threat actors.
  • Process development and analysis.
  • Application‑level security testing to prevent data/code theft or manipulation.
  • Risk identification and governance compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Team collaboration and project planning, including security architecture.
  • Policy, procedure, standard, and guideline development.
Technical Knowledge
  • WSUS, SCCM, Windows, Endpoint Protection, Compliance systems, Active Directory, Office 365.
  • SIEM solutions and vulnerability test suites.
  • SOX, PCI, and other compliance regulations.
Certifications
  • CompTIA Network+ and Security+ required.
  • CHFI or CEH preferred.
