Primary

Objectives

The Child Care Worker is a key line level position responsible for providing leadership and supervision for assigned children after school and throughout the summer. This job description is not an all inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives, as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Ensures the safety and well being of 2, 3, and 4 year old students.
  • Meets the basic needs of children to include assisting with toileting and changing diapers as needed.
  • Implements approved behavior management strategies to ensure an orderly environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
  • Works alongside the teacher to implement BIP’s/IEP’s
  • Supervises students in both indoor and outdoor settings and during activities such as games, arts & crafts, etc.
  • Builds good relationships with the students, parents, and co workers.
  • Assists staff in carrying out daily activities and assists in maintaining accurate daily records of meals, attendance, diaper changes, accidents, and behavioral issues.
  • Assist staff in the preparation of weekly schedules and plan of activit ies.
  • Inspects classroom and playground/outdoor area for any safety concerns and reports them to the Site Supervisor FLM.
  • Ensure that students are following all policies.
  • Must fully inform the Site Supervisor FLM and/or applicable staff of any possible problems relating to the program and/or students.
  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing of classroom to reduce exposure to airborne pathogens.
  • Attend/participate in professional developments pertaining to the education of early learners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have six (6) months of full time employment experience working with young children.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record…
