We are looking for a Licensed Architect with a strong portfolio in industrial projects. This person will lead planning and design from feasibility studies to Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. The architect will work on both new and existing plants, including semiconductor fabrications and life science clean rooms. They will translate complex processes and regulations into efficient, modern facilities.
Key Responsibilities:Test Fit / Feasibility
- Develop block plans, adjacency diagrams, and high-level utility layouts to validate site and program fit.
- Assess building massing, circulation, and code constraints to inform go/no-go decisions.
- Create Revit-based floor plans, elevations, and 3D views that incorporate process flows, ISO classified zones, and MEP system envelopes.
- Lead workshops with clients and stakeholders to refine design intent.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and process engineers to finalize the scope, material systems, and envelope details.
- Navigate zoning, environmental, and building codes (including IBC, NFPA, FM Global, and cGMP where applicable) for both new construction and retrofit sites.
- Prepare all necessary documentation for submissions to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and agencies such as the EPA and OSHA.
- Mentor junior staff and manage external consultants.
- Support business development with detailed scope narratives, schedules, and fee estimates.
- Active U.S. architectural license.
- 8+ years of experience in designing industrial or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Experience in producing test fits, schematic designs, and construction documents.
- Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Familiar with AIA contract documents and various project delivery methods.
- Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, ADA, and OSHA standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well in teams.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Cleanroom experience is a plus.
- Preferred background in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or battery manufacturing projects.
