This is a Per Diem/unbenefited position for a 24 hour department. Hours are varied - day, evening or night shifts depending on the need. Hours could be scheduled to fill vacation requests/leave of absence/an open shift or last minute to cover a sick call.
Responsible for registering patients and updating information in the patient’s electronic medical record. Perform a variety of administrative tasks to ensure that patient demographic, financial and mandated information is accurate based on available information, while providing patients and/or family members with required regulatory informational documents regarding their visit or admission.

Experience:

*** Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
* Excellent guest relations and telephone demeanor
* Ability to professional handle all interactions within a fast paced, hectic and emotionally charged clinical environment.
* Ability to think critically in making decisions to ensure urgent or emergent situations are handled correctly within hospital policies and procedures.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent computer skills
** Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/

Experience:

*** Minimum two years of computer experience
* Minimum one to two years of experience in an acute hospital setting
* Knowledge of medical terminology
*
* Educational Requirements:

*** High school diploma or equivalent.
