Position Summary:
Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Part-time
- Zumba, Cycle, Bootcamp/HIIT, Water Aerobics specialties encouraged and preferred. Year round and seasonal positions available
- Must be at least 18 years old
- At least one year of experience teaching group wellness preferred
- Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise
- Certification in areas of expertise
- YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire
- Leads energizing, fun, safe and educational group fitness class as directed by the supervisor to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
- Behaves in a professional manner and exemplifies a healthy lifestyle and shows a genuine interest and dedication to improve health, fitness and skill to others
- Works as a team player, supporting co-workers and the mission of the YMCA in the community
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA
- Keeps accurate class attendance
- Knows and abides by YMCA policies and facility policies
- Starts and ends classes on time and arrives 5–7 minutes before class to set up
- Puts away all equipment and ensures the room remains clean
- Attends all YMCA staff meetings, department meetings, and staff trainings as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to conduct classes and activities
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting, high or low impact movements
