Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an Accounting Manager with a CPA. This is a direct full-time position.

As a leader of the Accounting team, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of journal entries, reviewing monthly financial information, and reporting results. The Accounting Manager also ensures adequate internal controls, including end‑user computer application controls, are designed and effectively implemented. Additionally, the Accounting Manager prepares budgets, forecasts, and comparisons to actual results.

• Preparation of journal entries
• Compare monthly budgets and forecasts with actual results
• Understand the design and operation of internal controls
• Review monthly financial information to ensure reasonability
• Review and summarize capital requests, including assessing the overall business case of capital purchases
• Analyze opportunities and build models to support business decisions
• Plan, coordinate, and execute various ad‑hoc queries and reports used by all management levels in the development of key strategy and operational decision making

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
• Experience with manufacturing entities.
• Must have a CPA certification.
• Highly competent in the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio).
• Experience with data analysis tools is an asset.
• Understanding of internal control concepts.
• Self‑confidence, critical thinking, ability to influence, independence, and willingness to work extended hours if necessary.
• High level of time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
