The Customer Sales Team Lead is the AUMOVIO sales representative focused on positioning and selling all Business Areas products and solutions to Ford. They are responsible for developing the account strategy, acquiring business, and are the key contact at Ford for all BAs’ product and solutions. They will coordinate a consistent approach across all BAs to ensure a rapid resolution of issues and building and maintaining a good customer relationship leading to long‑term business growth.
This role will also coordinate, and sometimes lead activities with the global Ford organization, as well as other Ford Customer Sales Managers and other Strategy and Commercial Managers.
- Ford Account Strategy
- Developing overall growth and customer strategy for the Ford account
- Contributing to the Business Areas’ product strategy with focus on product portfolio, road maps, markets and competitors
- Identifying new business opportunities and innovation fields
- Identifying potential pre-development opportunities
- Target setting for sales
- Ford Customer Relationship Management
- Define and ensure application of customer relationship management (CRM) rules (e.g., Customer satisfaction information)
- Perform the de‑escalation management and manage the corresponding countermeasures
- Perform the escalation management (customer complaint handling)
- Develop story-lines for top management meetings and customer events
- Maintain the overall customer relationship and ensure continuous improvement
- Organise and execute cross BA project specific customer meetings
- Challenge, drive and guide activities related to Order Intake, Acquisition and Quote Process.
- Guide the Business Areas’ pre‑acquisition process
- Identify acquisition opportunities in line with aligned customer strategy
- Guide the Business Areas’ acquisition process (leading to RFI/RFQ)
- Guide and challenge the Business Areas’ in negotiating quotes
- Drive the customer engagement and escalation management
- Ensure consistency across Business Areas to collaborate on strategy and identify opportunities to bundle solutions
- Sales Planning and Opportunity Management
- Provide input for volume planning for Ford including vehicle platform and architecture roadmaps
- Provide overall opportunity inputs based on account strategy
- Provide latest order intake forecast
- Confirm sales planning data (Price/Volume/Fitment rate/…) for Ford (FC/BUD/Strat Plan)
- Remain flexible to support other activities as needed such as
- Customer Claim Management
- Commercial Management
- Price & Cost Increase Recovery
- Shortage Mitigation and Resolution Management
- Coach and develop Business Area Sales teams regarding Ford processes and expectations
- Understanding customer contracts and standards
THE ROLE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in sales/account management, program management, or project management in automotive with direct interaction with a major OEM customer required (Ford preferred)
- Strong proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills tailored for multiple levels of audiences
- Ability to understand, analyze and present complex data to drive clarity and resolution
- Skilled at building strong internal and external networks, and working with multi-cultural teams
