** CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

** working from the Auburn Hills, Michigan office,
** reporting to the Vice President of Construction and Estimating. The
** Construction Estimator
** will be responsible for analyzing project plans, preparing cost estimates, and managing budgets to ensure the successful and cost-effective completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and industry standards. From architectural design and full-scope construction to a comprehensive portfolio of industry-leading sports surfacing solutions, we lead with passion, pride, and purpose.
* Examine blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to understand scope and requirements.
* Identify potential issues or discrepancies in the plans.
* Solicit and review bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
* Evaluate quotes to ensure they are competitive and align with project requirements.
* Track project costs and monitor expenditures throughout the construction process.
* Update estimates as project changes occur and provide recommendations for cost control.
- ** Compliance:*
* * Ensure all estimates and construction practices adhere to local regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
* *
* Education:
** Civil Estimator or a related bachelor’s degree.
* *
* Experience:
** + Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in construction, a focus on civil preferred. +
Experience with post tension construction, concrete, site storm water systems, site excavation, sports field construction, athletic facility/surfaces etc. preferred.
* ** Estimation:** + Demonstrates expertise estimating projects, integrating schedules, and engaging with key stakeholders, including the design team, owners, and operations. + Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail. + Proficient in problem solving and cost/data analysis. + Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and costs.
* ** Technical Skills**: + Highly proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and various types of contract documents. + Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
* ** Software Proficiency:** + Proficient with Microsoft Office suite as well as estimating software:
Procore, Bid2win or equivalent, preferred.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to travel
** 25% of the year
** when needed.
