Elementary Physical Education Teacher

Job Description

The Elementary Physical Education (PE) Teacher will lead students in grades K–5 in age‑appropriate physical education lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and personal health. This individual will be responsible for creating a safe, fun, and developmentally sound learning environment that supports the school’s mission and Christian values.

• Develop and implement a Christ‑centered PE curriculum for students in grades K–5.
• Teach students fundamental motor skills, sportsmanship, fitness concepts, and teamwork.
• Integrate biblical principles and Christian character education into daily instruction.
• Create lesson plans that align with state standards and the school’s philosophy.
• Organize and supervise physical activities, games, and events such as Field Day.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized gymnasium and storage areas.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Monitor and assess student progress; maintain accurate records and report cards.
• Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, reports, and informal means.
• Participate in school‑wide activities, devotions, chapel services, and staff meetings.
• Uphold and model a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in word and deed.

• Agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission.
• Willingness to disciple students in a Christian worldview.

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (required).
• Teaching certification in Physical Education (required).
• Previous experience working with elementary‑aged children.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about student wellness and faith development.
• A heart for ministry through education and the ability to serve as a role model.
