We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Livonia, MI.
Acoufelt specializes in delivering high‑quality soft architectural acoustics solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We work with contractors, ceiling sub‑contractors, designers and architects to provide products that enhance and transform interior work spaces. Our portfolio includes a range of premium soft architectural materials and products designed for commercial projects.
The Project Engineer will work under the Engineering Manager to contribute to the successful execution of projects by preparing them for manufacturing and production. The focus will be on translating design intents into sophisticated engineered products/systems that are production‑friendly, easy to ship and install.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Rhino 3D is essential.
- Strong design engineering skills, particularly relating to digital fabrication.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and requirements.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Curiosity about how things go together and a proactive mindset toward problem‑solving.
- A continued desire to learn and improve with a focus on delivering high‑quality results.
- Knowledge of architectural products, hardware and installation methods is a plus.
- 1–3 years of design engineering experience (preferred).
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, engineering, industrial design or a related field (preferred).
- Generate cut files for production from 3D models.
- Create detailed installation and assembly drawings.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and other team members to achieve quarterly goals.
- Occasionally engage with clients or designers to address project‑specific requirements.
- Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
A strong working knowledge of Rhino. Experience with Grasshopper and Bluebeam a plus.
