Job Description:

The Interior Mirror Design and Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for prism, electrochromic, and digital mirror component and system design, development, and engineering release for Client production vehicles. The DRE will take part in development of vehicle level functional objectives and work to establish, and achieve, the corresponding component level functional objectives. The DRE will be responsible for the components/system from initial concept, packaging, software/hardware development, kinematic/compliance modeling, virtual analysis, physical validation, through component and vehicle launch.

Responsibilities include overseeing component design, FMEA, analysis (CAE), vehicle packaging (NX), model/drawing integrity (Teamcenter), development, component validation (DVP&R, change management (CCD/WebCN), engineering bill of material (EBOM), build support, issue management (GIMS), joint design, root cause analysis, solution development, and in-person support for associated testing, issue root cause, plant support, etc.

The (DRE) job responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Directly involved with supplier design efforts and design reviews to ensure the supplier design meets Client expectation as listed in Client specifications.
• Ensure systems comply with quality, performance, timing, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with advanced team to develop, define, and package system designs prior to sourcing.
• Serve as the regional on-site support for Interior Mirrors.
• Develop and maintain core boundary diagrams, interface matrices, parameter diagrams, Design for Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R).
