Assist with new program development by influencing design, providing tooling estimates, material suggestions, participating in risk analysis, coordinating drawings, and analyzing opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement.
Proficient in Interior Trims:
Soft Trims, Overhead Trims, and Hard Trims.
In-depth knowledge of Interior trims materials (including Carpet, NVH, Headliner, Hard trim with cloth/leather/vinyl wrap), compression and injection mold design and processes.
Experience with planning and managing projects, supplier and vendor management, product development, and lifecycle stages.
Work on early Master Sections and Engineering Surfaces.
Participate in engineering-driven cost reduction efforts through design assessment and benchmarking.
Utilize DOE processes and black belt methodologies for troubleshooting.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of new design concepts.
Maintain up-to-date BOM (Bill of Material) for all assigned parts.
Perform feasibility checks regarding materials, manufacturing, and design perspectives.
Develop innovative solutions to improve cost, mass, performance, and quality.
Create and present technical reports to communicate project status and results.
Release final designs for manufacturing into Team Center.
Foster continuous improvement in performance, quality, and cost.
Ensure designs meet global standards and methodologies.
Responsible for final design robustness and product quality.
Work with the cross-functional vehicle development team to define functional requirements, develop component and system DVPR, DFMEA, and release system and component performance specifications.
Proficient in CATIA V5, Team Center, DFMEA, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Minimum 5+ years of interior-related design engineering experience.
Preferred: BSME degree and CATIA V5 knowledge.
