Engineering Assistant Kettering -(Spring ) – Vehicle Electrification

Auburn Hills, MI
Salary: $30.00-$31.00 per hour
This is an entry‑level, full‑time position in engineering and information technology. The successful candidate will support engineers in the benchmarking, development, and verification of hybrid and electric powertrains.
Job Responsibilities- Support installation and commissioning of instrumentation in electric and/or hybrid vehicle powertrains and test benches
- Assist and interact with engineering and operations staff to execute vehicle and component testing tasks
- Data handling, processing, analysis, and report material generation
- Support project hardware inventory and logistics
- Ability to support off‑shift testing and analysis, if required
- Pursuing a master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering
- Strong engineering fundamentals: fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, electronics
- Interest and understanding of electric and hybrid powertrain systems
- Skilled in handling MS‑Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Basic understanding of MS Excel macro, MATLAB, or other similar scripting
- Professional communication skills, both oral and written English
- Must be a motivated team player to perform in a fast‑paced consulting environment
- Experience with vehicle instrumentation and testing
- Basic exposure to test equipment installation and/or calibration
- Hands‑on experience with vehicle powertrain systems
- Knowledge of U.S. legislation (Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and/or California Code of Regulations (CCR) regulating hybrid and electric vehicles
