We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardware Interface Engineer to join our team, responsible for creating and maintaining Hardware Interface (HWI) documentation for Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and their directly wired sensors and actuators. This role plays a critical part in ensuring electrical compatibility, standardization, and successful integration of hardware interfaces across client platforms.
Your Role- Develop and maintain HWI documents detailing electrical interface types (e.g., LSD, HSD, Half-Bridge, Analog Input) and associated electrical characteristics.
- Define reference circuitry and interface requirements to ensure compatibility between ECUs and connected components.
- Collect, analyze, and harmonize existing interface requirements to drive standardization across platforms.
- Collaborate with component owners, suppliers, and electrical architecture teams to specify and implement hardware interfaces.
- Support technical reviews and design reviews to ensure compliance with HWI specifications.
- Investigate and resolve hardware interface issues identified during validation and testing phases.
Stay updated on advancements in hardware interface technologies and update HWI documentation accordingly.
Your skills and experience- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive electrical systems, architecture, or hardware.
- At least 1 year of experience in analog and digital circuit hardware development.
Minimum 1 year of experience in ECU hardware design and integration.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with automotive standards and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical architecture and component validation.
- Knowledge of interface simulation tools and circuit design software.
