Composites Manufacturing Engineer

- Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
- Interpret composite tooling/parts requirements, and curing processes
- Assist with material selection, especially with fiber‑reinforced polymers and resins
- Troubleshoot issues specific to composite manufacturing (e.g., delamination, fiber misalignment)
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of composite tooling/parts
- Recommend and implement improvements in composite processing techniques (e.g., autoclave, resin infusion, hand lay‑up)
- Ensure designs and processes meet FAA, EASA, DoD, and company‑specific requirements
- Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams during fabrication and assembly
- Resolve shop‑floor issues related to materials, tooling, parts, curing cycles, and bonding
- Improve manufacturability, reduce scrap, and optimize cycle times
- Prepare engineering reports, test documentation, and certification packages
- Maintain configuration control and adherence to quality management systems (AS9100)
- Contribute to corporate quality policy and objectives
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
- Other duties as assigned
- Hands‑on experience with composite materials and processes is highly desirable
- Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workloads
- Ability to suggest changes in office practices or procedures
- Ability to work with a diverse group of external and internal contacts at all levels of the organization
- Experience with quality systems (AS9100)
- Experience with CAD (CATIA)
- High School diploma or GED required
- Composite Engineering degree‑related Bachelor of Science preferred
