The Design Convergence Lead (DCL) Engineer is responsible for establishing, developing, and enforcing component- and system-level dimensional control requirements from initial vehicle concept through tooling kickoff. Operating at the intersection of engineering design, perceived quality, and manufacturing, the DCL Engineer performs rigorous tolerance analyses and enforces design standards to ensure superior vehicle fit, finish, and structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities1. Dimensional Control & Requirements Management
Technical Requirements: Lead the creation, review, and approval of dimensional technical specifications and tolerances for internal component parts and tier-supplier assemblies.
Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis: Perform detailed 1D/3D tolerance stack-up calculations to evaluate design feasibility, mitigate manufacturing variation, and ensure overall assembly robustness.
Perceived Quality Alignment: Analyze 3D CAD models to ensure full compliance with Stellantis perceived quality rules, flush-and-gap targets, and exterior/interior visual execution standards.
KPI & Deliverable Tracking: Manage program milestones, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain status tracking across assigned vehicle systems.
Escalation Management: Identify dimensional gaps, interference risks, and quality non-conformances early in the design phase, escalating issues to cross-functional leadership in a timely manner.
Root-Cause Analysis: Apply statistical tools and structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve complex geometry and packaging challenges.
