Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, degree-qualified Junior Automotive Engineer to join our Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) Body department. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate to apply their technical knowledge while developing skills in engineering automation, parametric design, and digital engineering solutions within the automotive industry.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of knowledge-based engineering tools and automated design processes within the BIW and Closures team. These solutions will help improve engineering efficiency, standardize design practices, reduce repetitive tasks, and support the delivery of high-quality automotive engineering products.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and maintenance of Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) applications, tools, and automated engineering processes.
- Assist in translating engineering requirements, design standards, and technical specifications into configurable engineering rules and logic.
- Develop and maintain parametric models, templates, and automated design solutions using CAD and related engineering software.
- Support the automation of repetitive design, calculation, validation, and documentation tasks.
- Work with design engineers and cross-functional teams to understand engineering requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement through the advanced vehicle engineering phase of programs.
- Assist with testing, debugging, and validating KBE applications to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Maintain technical documentation, engineering rules, and application user guides.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering productivity, quality, consistency, and standardization.
