The Auburn Hills Police Department (AHPD) provides professional law enforcement services to the City of Auburn Hills. AHPD is accredited by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and emphasizes a community policing approach. Members are accountable for their conduct and work to improve safety and quality of life within the community.
Base pay range: $67,184.00/yr - $90,334.40/yr
Salary: $67,184 - $90,334.40 depending on qualifications. Lateral pay determined by Police Chief. to review our summary of benefits.
ResponsibilitiesThe Police Officer performs police patrol, investigation, traffic regulation, and related law enforcement activities.
Qualifications- Must be 18 years or older at the time of employment
- Graduated from or planning to attend MCOLES-certified training academy
- Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State driver
F's license - No felony convictions and disqualifying criminal histories
- U.S. citizen
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Must be of good moral character and of temperate and industrious habits
- Associates degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field with a bachelor's degree preferred
- Knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment
- Ability to learn the applicable laws, ordinances, and department rules and regulations; ability to perform work requiring good physical condition; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, and supervisors; ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to meet the special requirements listed below;
