OverviewThe Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x‑ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies and applicable regulations under direct supervision. The role demands efficient, accurate patient care in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring every patient receives a quality clinical experience.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escorting to dressing and x‑ray rooms, providing verbal and written instructions, and assisting with positioning.
- Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjusting controls to set exposure time and distance per examination specifications.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to safeguard patients and team members.
- Maintain radiologic equipment, report malfunctions to Center Operations Director, and keep all equipment working order.
- Follow all Radiology workflows, ensuring accurate documentation and correct cross‑reporting to EMR.
- Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician and triage emergent patients as needed.
- Assist clinicians with procedure setup, injury care, and apply bandages, dressings, and splints per orders.
- Dispense medications and DME as ordered, maintaining supply and equipment in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Maintain a clean, orderly facility and complete HIPAA and safety guidelines.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology; state certification required.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with active, valid certification.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Minimum six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and handle confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and PHI.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry into various systems.
