The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x‑ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations under direct supervision of the treating clinician, as well as supports in other needed areas of the facility. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one‑on‑one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment. The RT MSS ensures that every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.

Responsibilities

Radiologic Technologist Duties
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escorting them to dressing and x‑ray rooms, providing verbal and/or written instructions, and assisting with positioning to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during the x‑ray exam.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes, positioning equipment and adjusting controls to set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications, and taking x‑rays following established requirements and regulations.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
  • Maintain radiologic equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the Center Operations Director and ensure all radiologic workflows and reports are correctly entered into the EMR.
  • Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient x‑ray visits.
Medical Assistant Duties
  • Perform Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing in accordance with state regulations.
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
  • Assist providers during examination and treatment.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients as needed.
  • Assist clinician with procedure set‑up and injury care, apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered, dispense medications and DME as ordered in compliance with state regulations.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices and test processes used in the center.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Operate all medical devices, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with policy.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or the facility is not operating as expected.
  • Collaborate with center leadership to assist with patient flow and volume.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times throughout the center visit.
  • Perform clerical tasks in the front and back office associated with patient care and record keeping, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
  • Manage front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check‑in/out, communicate wait times, answer multi‑line telephone system, and distribute employer results/paperwork as needed.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
  • Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.
