- Conduct work in compliance with all company, local, state, and federal Safety and Health Rules.
- Diagnose and correct problems with the molding processes, including molds, set ups, automation, etc.
- Recommend tooling changes to improve process capability.
- Monitor and adjust molding parameters to ensure parts meet process and quality standards.
- Perform record-keeping tasks such as recording cavitation levels, downtime reasons, machine logs, process adjustments, event logs, and process verification sheets.
- Complete TPM sheets for injection molding machines regularly.
- Be a team player by displaying a cooperative and positive attitude towards the organization, policies, procedures, and employees.
- Troubleshoot machine, thermolator, dryer, or process issues related to manufacturing.
- Fill out maintenance work orders for unresolved machine, thermolator, or dryer issues.
- Follow escalation procedures for issues that cannot be resolved immediately.
- Perform mold changes and machine start-ups as needed.
- Ensure operators are at their scheduled machines and properly trained with the necessary tools.
- Verify production sheets are correctly filled out and match MES system records.
- Relieve operators for breaks when necessary.
- Spot check parts hourly to ensure quality and proper labeling and placement.
- Count, tote, and label parts produced in automatic machines.
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Verifiable manufacturing and/or plastic injection mold experience, preferably in an automotive setting.
- Experience with Roboshot, Arburg, and Engel Injection Molding Machines.
- Experience using LEAN tools, 5S standards, robotics preferred.
- Working knowledge of plastic injection molding.
- Knowledge of scientific molding/RJG, desired.
- Knowledge of Yushin and Viper Robots.
- Working knowledge of hot runner systems and sequential valve gate systems.
- Good oral and written communication skills for developing quality documentation.
