Compensation: $19.50 / hour

Description: The Food Service Worker is responsible for food preparation, cooking, cleaning, stocking, organizing, and providing excellent customer service.

• Assist with food preparation such as creating fruit cups, maintaining the salad bar, stocking food supplies, etc.
• Engage with and provide superior service to all customers, answering questions and providing information on procedures or policies, communicating orders, comments, and complaints.
• Manage cash handling: establish or identify prices, capture sales in the point of sales system, receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits, issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change, ensure accuracy, and balance the cash drawer at shift end.
• Contribute to a positive team environment, recognizing accomplishments, maintaining calm during high volume periods, and setting a positive example.
• Organize and stock supplies, service stations, and products; rotate items and follow placement protocols to optimize sales.
• Follow operational, health, safety, and sanitation guidelines; clean/sanitize work areas, utensils, equipment, service and seating areas; sweep, mop, wash dishes, etc.

• 1 year of food service experience required; strong food prep skills preferred.
• Knowledge of techniques and equipment for preparing, serving, storing, and handling food and beverage products.
• Mathematical ability to add/subtract, charge appropriately, and give correct change.
• Suggestive selling or influencing others: ability to encourage purchase or change decisions.
• Customer service: working with the public, principles/processes for providing customer services.
