The Auburn University Stormwater Research Facility is seeking a creative and motivated individual to support outreach and communications efforts that connect stormwater research with the broader community. This position will work closely with researchers to develop graphics, website content, and communication materials that highlight the facility’s projects, findings, and impact.
Essential Functions- Collaborate with researchers to translate stormwater research into accessible outreach materials for the public.
- Assist with website maintenance, updates, and content development to showcase ongoing projects and community initiatives.
- Design graphics, infographics, and visual content to support educational campaigns and outreach programs.
- Provide photography and videography support for events, fieldwork, and community engagement activities.
- Develop stories, articles, and social media content to promote the activities of faculty, students, and research projects.
- Draft press releases and media announcements in collaboration with staff and faculty.
- Maintain organized files, databases, and records of outreach and communication materials.
High School Diploma.
Desired Qualifications- Excellent writing skills, with working knowledge of Associated Press and Chicago writing styles.
- Specialized interest in translating scientific research into engaging content for public audiences.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Word Press.
- Knowledge of social media strategy and management.
- Experience in photography, videography, or multimedia content creation.
- Demonstrated professionalism, maturity, and attention to detail in work and interactions.
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong visual communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, staff, and peers.
- Ability to work in an office setting at a computer for several hours a day.
- Salary Range: $15.00–$20.00 per hour.
