Communications & Marketing Student Worker
Job Summary: The RFID Lab is seeking a student to assist with social media and web content and develop press releases, announcements, and other materials as needed. This is a year‑round student opportunity, offering a flexible schedule of up to 20 hours per week.
Essential Functions- Assist staff with website maintenance, updates, and content development.
- Assist staff with event promotions, videography, and photography.
- Conduct, document, and catalog interviews with faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
- Develop stories, graphics, and write articles to promote the activities of alumni, students, and student organizations for print, web, and social media.
- Assist staff and faculty with the content development, layout, and editing of printed materials, including brochures, advertising, flyers/posters, and other collateral materials.
- Assist with the drafting of press releases and other media announcements as needed.
- Assist with developing and maintaining media, peer institution, and industry‑related contact lists.
- Conduct market research studies and other duties as assigned.

- Currently an Auburn University undergraduate student.
- Freshman and Sophomores, and those wanting to work over the summer, will be given preference.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities independently and on deadline.
- Demonstrate maturity, professionalism, self‑discipline, and attention to detail in work and interactions.
- Excellent writing skills, working knowledge of Associated Press and Chicago writing styles.
- Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or Mass Communications major/minor student.
- Specialized interest in translating the methods, impacts, and wider applications of scientific research for a wide variety of public audiences to interest, engage, and garner support in the college’s research, academic, development, and outreach programs.
- Experience with Microsoft and Adobe products, as well as Word Press.
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour |
