Subject Matter Experts (AUSME) Development Team – Student Developer & Data Analyst
Join Auburn University’s AUSME development team to assist with programming tasks, data analysis, and system improvements. This student developer and data analyst role offers hands‑on experience working on a real production system used across the university.
Job Summary
Supports the AUSME development team by implementing new features in Python, managing MySQL databases, working with server‑side components, version control (Git Hub), and handling data analytics tasks such as dataset management, data quality checks, and performance reporting. This position offers hands‑on experience on a production system.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the development of new AUSME system features using Python.
- Work with MySQL to query, update, and maintain AUSME datasets.
- Support server‑side scripts, data pipelines, and backend processes.
- Use Git Hub for version control, issue tracking, and collaboration.
- Perform data analytics tasks including dataset validation, data cleaning, data visualization, and generating usage or performance reports.
- Analyze Google Analytics and other system metrics to support decision‑making.
- Help review and curate AUSME data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with the AUSME development team to troubleshoot bugs, test new features, and ensure smooth system operation.

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled Auburn University student.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with MySQL or other relational databases.
- Experience with Git Hub or other version control tools.
- Understanding of server‑side scripting or willingness to learn.
- Experience or interest in data analytics.
- Experience with Google Analytics (preferred).
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn new technologies.
Pay Rate $10.00–$15.00/hour
Work Hours 20 hours per week
