Student Assistant - Innovation & Research Commons Help Desk
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant to assist faculty and staff with daily library operations in the Innovation & Research Commons (I&RC).
Essential Functions- Provide direct service to library patrons at the I&RC Help Desk, including checking in/out technology equipment, answering questions, and directing patrons as needed.
- Set up wide-format printing for patrons.
- Help keep the area tidy.
- Help patrons use and perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, including PC and Mac desktop computers, laserjet printers, wide-format inkjet printers, and flatbed and large-format scanners/plotters.
- Help patrons locate microforms and operate microform reader/printers.
- Inventory and create lists of technology lending equipment.
- Inventory I&RC book collection.
Enrolled student at Auburn University
Expectations- Report for the shift on time.
- Interest in public service and delivery of quality customer service.
- Be willing to work as a team member while interacting with faculty, staff, and students.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Dependability, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
$9.00 per hour
Work HoursStudents will work up to 20 hours per week depending on availability and department needs.
