Associate Director of Research Integrity
Join Auburn University’s Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and Economic Development as an Associate Director of Research Integrity. This full‑time position oversees the Financial Conflict of Interest, Responsible Conduct of Research, and Research Misconduct programs within the Office of Research Integrity & Compliance, and leads program development, advancement, and assessment.
Responsibilities- Serves as the Deputy Research Integrity Officer in support of RM proceedings.
- Works with the Research Integrity Officer, university leadership, and admin offices to support RM proceedings and interact with stakeholders on allegations and investigations.
- Provides strategic leadership, operational direction, and oversight of research integrity processes, systems, compliance requirements, and educational initiatives.
- Reviews and creates policies and procedures to fulfill regulatory requirements.
- Develops, implements, and oversees monitoring programs to evaluate compliance with federal, state, local, and university requirements.
- Develops and delivers compliance education and training for faculty, researchers, administrators, staff, and students.
- Serves as subject‑matter expert, advising administration, investigators, and staff on applicable laws.
- Assists with reviews of allegations, coordinating with appropriate units and senior leadership.
- Oversees design, development, and implementation of quality improvement efforts.
- Maintains oversight of conflict of interest identification, disclosure, and management.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Seven years of experience in research compliance, integrity, or administration.
- At least two years of direct supervision of full‑time employees.
Skills and Abilities
- In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and institutional research integrity regulations.
- Understanding of research administration and legal aspects of business entities.
- Knowledge of human, animal, and biological research, scientific method, and terminology.
- Experience with electronic compliance training and tracking systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, presentation, supervisory, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Collaborative ability across all organizational levels.
- Capacity to administer multiple campus‑wide compliance programs.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Master’s degree.
- Degree in science, engineering, business, or related field.
- Experience in a university, hospital, or other research setting with progressive responsibility.
