The Audit Supervisor is responsible for contributing to the achievement of the firm’sobjectivesincluding:
- Assisting with clients assigned to you
- Supervising staff assigned to your projects
- Assisting with staff coaching,mentoring and training
- Assisting with planning and scheduling audit projects
The primary responsibilities of the Audit Supervisor are:
- Engagement planning and scheduling
- Assigning adequate resources to projects
- Managing budgets for his/her projects and communicating with the partner/biller when a project grows out of scope or is moving toward a budgetary or timing overage
- Supervising staff assigned to his/her projects to ensure that schedules, budgets, and quality requirements are met, including review of work papers
- Providing on-the-job training to staff
- Communicating the engagement status with the partner/manager, the client, andhis/her advisors ona timelyand ongoing basis
- Technical Skills
- Attending Continuing Professional Education courses as agreed upon with your career advisor to stay up to date on current accounting pronouncements and tax law.

- Research
- Participating in staff training and mentoring
- Assisting with analysis of technology tools to support the audit process
- Preparation of business tax returnson an as-needed basis
- Preparation of financial statements
The skills and educationrequiredfor this position are:
- CPA certificate and bachelor’s degree in accounting and an interest in working with small to medium sized businesses
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing within a public accounting firm or equivalent experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding, comprehension, and ability to articulate auditing and accounting concepts
- Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise others
- Proficiency in Word and Excel and other accounting software used at the firm
The Audit Supervisor will bedeemedto have been successful when he or she has:
- Completed the engagements assigned to him/her within the expected budgets
- Received positive feedback from his/her clients,managers and partners
- Exhibited the actions and positive attitude in participation in the other aspects of firm growth
- Begun development ofhis/herown referrals from satisfied clients andhis/her contacts in the community
