Machine Operator​/Blade Maker - Second Shift

This position sets up and operates a variety of machines. Will produce items from various types of metal and non-metal materials to blueprints, sketches, and work instructions.

This is a second shift position.

• MUST BE ABLE TO CORRECTLY USE AND READ MEASURING TOOLS (I.E TAPE MEASURE, MICROMETERS, VERNIER CALIPERS AND CONVERT FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS).
• Works independently in planning, layout, setting up, and operating the blade making equipment and processes.
• Responsible for producing product within specification and applicable procedures/work instructions, drawings, and quality documents.
• Perform basic machine maintenance.
• Perform all processing operations in the blade department, including but not limited to punching, shearing, drilling, skiving, bevel grinding, flattening, routing, slitting, riveting, finishing, and assembly of product.
• Pull coil stock for orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Fully responsible for the quality of their work.
• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
• Must be a team player and participate in efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years of hands-on experience with all Blade Assembler making processes. Experience with devices to lift irregular shaped objects (i.e., cranes, power lifts, and methods of lifting).

Knowledge: Basic shop mathematics and technologies. Able to read basic blueprints. Understand order of operations and good manufacturing practices.

Skill: Able to correctly use and read measuring tools (i.e., tape measure, micrometers, Vernier calipers). Control the equipment to hold quality requirements, drawing dimensions, and tolerances consistently. Verbal and written communication skills to convey information within the organization. Ability to solve practical manufacturing problems with little guidance. Average computer skills. Able to prioritize tasks.

Physical/Environmental Demands: Possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items with fingers. Able to lift, carry, move, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. without aid of a device. Work in shop conditions with moving equipment, noise, dust, and temperature swings. Periodically exposed to hazards of a serious nature requiring care in use of machinery and other equipment necessitating the use of personal protection equipment.
