CNC Machinist, Machine Operator, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
Auburn, AL | $26–$30/hr | $54,080–$62,400 Annually + Overtime
Tired of running the same part all day? Want a machining role where your skills actually matter?
We're hiring a CNC Machinist for an established industrial manufacturer in Auburn, AL. If you enjoy hands-on machining, challenging setups, and working on different parts instead of repetitive mass production, this could be a great fit!
This is a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment where every day brings something different. Some jobs involve producing just one or two precision parts per shift, while others involve shorter production runs.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?- Variety in your work! Frequent setups, changeovers, and different machining projects.
- Real machining, not just button-pushing. Put your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to use.
- Competitive pay: $26–$30/hr, depending on experience and skill level.
- Overtime opportunities for additional earnings.
- In-house training to help you expand your machining capabilities.
- Established manufacturing team with a history of employee retention.
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes and conventional machining equipment.
- Machine precision metal components from raw materials to finished products.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Perform tooling changes, machine setups, and frequent changeovers.
- Read G-code and M-code and make basic edits to existing CNC programs.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools to verify tolerances.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and perform in-process quality checks.
- Work with onsite CNC programmers when more complex programming support is needed.
- Hands-on CNC machining experience, ideally with CNC lathes.
- Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, setups, and tooling.
- Ability to read blueprints and work to precise tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of CNC program offsets and G-code/M-code.
- Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with manual machining equipment is a plus.
- Experience with Doosan or Mazak machines is a plus.
You do NOT need to write complex CNC programs from scratch. Dedicated programmers are available onsite. We need someone who understands machining and can confidently work with existing programs.
Schedule & Compensation- Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday
- Overtime: Approximately 1–2 Saturdays per month, based on production needs
- Pay: $26–$30/hr, based on qualifications
- Location: Auburn, Alabama
If you're a machinist who enjoys figuring things out, working with different parts, and taking pride in precision work,
we want to hear from you!
