Position: 1856 - Culinary Residence - A Teaching Restaurant - Cook I - Part Time and Full Time Available

Responsibilities:

Plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of restaurant production including all menu items supplied by outlet kitchen.

Ensure displays and presentations of all items designated by sous chef for service.

Complete all mise en place to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or sous chef.

Follow established recipe and plating guide to exact specifications.

Maintain and organize workstation and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion to meet hotel standards.

Contribute to a positive work environment.

Skills and Abilities:

Good knife skills.

Ability to season food properly.

Ability to communicate efficiently with all internal customers.

Ability to fill out all requisitions properly.

Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, etc.).

Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes.

Ability to read, write, and understand English to complete requisitions and read recipes.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, intense work environment under stress.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate work while following through with assigned tasks.

Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and organized work environment.

Knowledge:

Food production techniques and equipment.

Production processes, quality control, and costs.

Customer service principles and processes.

Mathematics and its applications in the kitchen.
