Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting with various athletic complexes and Parks and Recreation Facilities. This position reports to the assigned League Sports Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions- Serve as acting supervisor in the League Sports Coordinator’s absence, overseeing staff and operations.
- Supervises part-time staff, monitors staff attendance, assignments, and performance; provides direction as needed.
- Communicates effectively with staff, coaches, and parents and supports the enforcement of rules, procedures, and standards.
- Oversees assigned sport, recreation, or other related recreation activities.
- Monitors and maintains assigned facility and documents any incidents for supervisor.
- Keeps immediate supervisor informed of work progress and any potential problems.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) to three (3) years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
- Possession of or the ability to readily obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within six (6) months of employment.
- Knowledge of department and recreation Center rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of the rules, equipment, and facilities requirements for a variety of sports and games.
- Knowledge of safety principles and procedures involved in recreational programs or events.
- Knowledge of CPR, First Aid, and AED procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs.
- Skill in using computers for data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes.
- Skill in the use of small office equipment, including calculators, copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
- Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
- Ability to get along with others, and work effectively with the public and co-workers.
- Ability to coordinate a recreational activity or sport involving several participants.
