Operations Manager

Overview

MV Transportation is seeking an Operations Manager to provide support, leadership and direction to the assigned operating location.

The Operations Manager will control the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Effectively managing on-time performance and driver availability.
• Effectively managing customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.
• Assisting the General Manager and Assistant Manager with personnel/employee relations, service delivery, customer service, and other duties as assigned.
• Acting as first level for all employee disciplinary and performance issues.
• Overseeing all Operations when the buses are in service.
• Scheduling for Supervisors, Dispatchers, and bus drivers.
• Monitoring schedules and personnel, coordinating replacements and substitutions as required.
• Reporting any detours, route adjustments, accidents, incidents, or other abnormalities.
• Maintaining client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations.
• Assisting with conducting periodic departmental audits.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.
• Implementing, promoting, and adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Participating in location labor and employee relations activities.

Talent Requirements:

• Must have a valid Class B CDL with B and P endorsements and meet all driver requirements.
• At least five (5) years in public transportation operations or related experience with a minimum of 2 years supervisory or management level experience.
• Qualification to oversee all drivers and supervisors, run operations during peak periods and handle safety and customer service training.
• Knowledge of the contractual obligations is a must to perform this job correctly.
• Knowledge of company policy assures that the field operator is using consistent measures to assess a driver’s activity.
• Experience managing fast paced environment.
