Project Engineer Intern

Sunbelt Asphalt Surfaces is seeking motivated and career-focused students to join our Project Engineer Internship Program
. This paid internship offers hands‑on experience in the asphalt paving and heavy highway construction industry, exposing interns to field operations, project management, estimating, quality control, and plant operations. Interns will work alongside industry professionals and gain practical experience that supports future careers in construction management and engineering.

• Assist project teams with daily construction operations and project coordination.
• Support field engineers, project managers, and superintendents on active asphalt and construction projects.
• Monitor production quantities, track project progress, and assist with documentation.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and estimating activities.
• Learn and apply quality control and safety standards.
• Observe and support asphalt plant and paving operations.
• Complete assigned projects, reports, and presentations throughout the internship.

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in asphalt paving, road construction, and heavy civil projects.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
