Skilled Machine Operator Night Shift

Skilled Machine Operator - 12-Hour Night Shift (3-2-2-3 schedule)

Carlex Glass America, LLC is looking for an experienced Skilled Machine Operator to work a 12‑hour night shift on a rotating 3‑2‑2‑3 schedule.

• Understand and follow work instructions and control plans.
• Communicate with other operators to ensure a steady product flow.
• Operate multiple machines and perform key tasks such as changeovers.
• Perform regular checks (part quality, gaging, sag mapping, xenon light distortion, etc.).
• Report production through GMAPS.
• Maintain an organized, clean work environment (5S).
• Perform other departmental duties as directed by supervision.
• Use required PPE and observe lock‑outs and E‑stops.
• Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while keeping the process running.
• Handle all types of glass safely.

• Strong and consistent attendance record.
• Willingness to learn new skills and a teachable attitude.
• Remains calm while balancing numerous responsibilities.
• Initiative in communicating with upstream processes and proactive in completing tasks.
• Pro‑active work ethic and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of PPE and lock‑outs / E‑stops.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum 3‑5 years of operator experience.
• Ability to learn and follow procedures while working safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Work a 12‑hour shift on a rotating 3‑2‑2‑3 schedule and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift 45–50 lbs regularly and/or occasionally walk 5–10 feet while carrying a 45–50 lb. windshield.
• Ability to raise or move objects horizontally, and perform repetitive wrist, hand and finger movements.
• Endures repetitive twisting, bending, extreme heat and humidity, and standing on concrete for extended periods.
• Strong attendance and team‑work skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Overtime may be required, including weekends and holidays.
