Position OverviewThe Assistant Service Manager plays a crucial role in the success of our service department. In partnership with the Service Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage a team of technicians and service advisors, and ensure that all service activities meet company standards for quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a thorough understanding of automotive repairs and service processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely service delivery.
- Support and mentor service advisors and technicians, providing guidance and training as needed to improve skills and performance.
- Collaborate with the team to establish and achieve service department goals, maintaining high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor service and repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, ensuring compliance with dealership policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing concerns and providing solutions to enhance the overall customer experience.
- Analyze service department metrics and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to achieve operational excellence.
- Assist in the management of service department budgets, inventory control, and labor utilization.
- Ensure that all service operations adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
- Stay updated on manufacturer’s technical bulletins, service procedures, and best practices to provide customers with accurate information and recommendations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business administration, automotive technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in automotive service management, ideally within a dealership environment.
- Strong knowledge of Nissan vehicles, repair processes, and customer service best practices.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve service operations.
- Proficient in using service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- ASE certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
