Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of a fast‑moving environment in the inventory cycle. Responsible for the daily management of people within the warehouse shipping function, to ensure the company’s targets and objectives are met and customer requirements are satisfied while ensuring staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures. This is a hands‑on position responsible for housekeeping standards and continual improvement within the warehouse, acting independently at the organizational level and providing backup for the Production Supervisor.
The role reports directly to the Operations Manager.
- Prepare opening and closing of the warehouse.
- Lift 50 pounds or greater.
- Receive and record new inventory as delivered.
- Inspect and sort all inbound and outbound receipts to confirm proper check‑in, processing and correct location.
- Develop and manage metric‑oriented logistics/warehousing/inventory management processes and measure, analyse, improve and control them.
- Maintain knowledge of customers, employees and contractors and communicate clear understanding of customer requirements.
- Interact professionally and appropriately with contractors, vendors, customers and employees.
- Assist in pricing and route analysis to support managers.
- Understand DOT requirements.
- Support the Manager in implementing customer requirements including security, handling, packing, sorting, receiving, loading and delivering.
- Operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and box truck to stage or store products in appropriate locations.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and report unresolved issues to the Manager.
- Monitor and measure receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy, assisting in staging, sorting, loading, receiving and delivering of products.
- Drive company‑leased or owned equipment as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned to meet strategic, operational and financial objectives.
- Experience developing and managing metric‑oriented logistics/warehousing/inventory management processes, measuring, analysing, improving and controlling them.
- Knowledge of customers, employees and contractors; ability to communicate customer requirements clearly.
