Job Summary

This role will assist various departments in ordering and placing purchase orders for needed supplies and verifying receipt of goods.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accurate and timely purchasing of all items or services to fulfill and meet company requirements.
  • Create purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Order supplies for individual departments and maintain purchase requirements.
  • Review orders and requests to ensure vendor compliance, and recommend vendor changes when necessary.
  • Place orders and expedite as needed to ensure timely delivery.
  • Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria.
  • Develop and optimize vendor relationships.
  • Review any invoice discrepancies and apply to suppliers with requests for credits or adjustments.
  • Ensure that all purchase requests have been approved in accordance with authorized approval levels.
  • Identify the most cost‑effective freight movement.
  • Direct communication with manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless operation of the facility with minimal disruption of production.
  • Coordinate and process all Return‑To‑Vendor requests.
  • Perform various administrative duties such as filing, copying, etc.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area, or a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of prior purchasing experience (preferred).
  • Manufacturing background (preferred).
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
  • The hourly pay rate can range between $28‑$32/hr.
  • Vacation hours of two weeks per year.
