Cashier – Fred Meyer (Food 4 Less)

Part‑time or full‑time positions available. Base pay is $16.91/hour – $24.15/hour, depending on skills and experience.

Based in California, Food 4 Less merged with The Kroger Company in 1998. We proudly serve customers in over 100 stores across California and the Midwest.

• Greet, engage and assist customers; maintain a clean & safe environment.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Handle various payment methods:
  Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and city‑specific promotions.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, company policies on restricted items, and loss controls.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policy for stamps, gift cards, coupons, and special advertising.
• Stay current with current, seasonal, and special ad promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations and safety programs, and promptly report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management for repairs.
• Answer customer product questions throughout the store and create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated.
• Act honestly and with integrity.
• Follow directions and obtain assistance when necessary for customer or business issues.
• Provide support to minors, special‑needs individuals, and older adults.
• Manage conflict in a cooperative, non‑confrontational manner.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
