Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Lead will oversee daily inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, inspection, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This role provides hands‑on leadership to the shipping and receiving team while maintaining compliance with quality systems, safety requirements, and ERP processes. The Lead partners closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues, support audits, and drive continuous improvement.

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to on‑time delivery and operational excellence.

Duties
  • Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, including receipt, inspection, storage, documentation, and distribution.
  • Ensure accurate unloading, recording, and ERP updates for all incoming and outgoing shipments, including work orders and associated documentation.
  • Coordinate customer shipments to ensure on‑time delivery and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, packing slips, receiving reports, returns, and repairs in coordination with Purchasing and Contracts.
  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries for customers and/or suppliers, using required portals and shipping systems where applicable.
  • Support quality receiving inspection activities by verifying quantity and condition of goods and addressing non‑conformances.
  • Proactively identify and resolve shipping and receiving issues with support from leadership and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Provide visible leadership, enforce work rules, and ensure consistent adherence to safety regulations, PPE requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized, and functional work areas and equipment.
  • Prepare operational reports and metrics as required; support internal and external audits or inspections.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 / AS9100 policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct in all interactions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience in shipping and receiving within an aerospace manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform these physical demands for extended periods of time, with or without assistance. The demands may be reasonably accommodated on a case‑by‑case basis.

  • Lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
  • Perform repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, walking, steep stairs, and vehicle access.
  • Persevere under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain coverage under Tessera insurance.
  • Real‑ driver’s license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ) for federal installation access.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances and installation access; background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
