Job SummaryThe Donor Engagement Coordinator is a critical member of the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (PAE) team, contributing to the advancement of Augusta University’s mission by fostering meaningful connections with donors and ensuring the successful execution of donor engagement initiatives. The role enhances donor relationships through high‑level communications, execution of projects, and recognition events, requiring exceptional writing skills, event planning expertise, and database management.
Responsibilities- Database Management:
Maintain accurate donor records across databases, compile, reconcile, and organize data to support donor‑focused projects and events, and track weekly action items from donor report data. - Professional Writing & Communication:
Create high‑quality, detailed donor communications, draft gift agreements, new donor postcards, personalized acknowledgment letters, milestone notes, and maintain clear communication with Major Gift Officers. - Events:
Coordinate with PAE and Donor Engagement leadership to plan and execute donor recognition events (annual celebrations, scholarship ceremonies, naming events, fundraising activities); curating invitation lists, coordinating vendors, managing timelines, schedules, budgets and overseeing event setup and execution. - Office Management:
Manage supplies, resources, and budgets for PAE events; basic office tasks such as managing calendars, processing invoices, creating templates, placing supply orders, and maintaining organized files. - Other:
Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, professional writing, journalism, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in donor engagement, fundraising, professional writing, database management or event planning.
- Advanced degree in related field.
- Self‑motivated, self‑directed, collegial, results‑oriented.
- Team player able to work non‑traditional hours (mornings, nights, weekends).
- Professional experience in higher education, academic or nonprofit settings.
- Background in professional writing and correspondence, including crafting polished communications.
- Experience in creating and finalizing endowment reports with high accuracy.
- Demonstrated success in developing detailed reports using data from multiple platforms.
- Self‑motivation & initiative – independent work, anticipate needs, proactively solve problems.
- Time management & adaptability – balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, maintain quality.
- Energy, creativity & integrity – enthusiasm, positive dynamic environment, creativity, strategic thinking, uphold integrity.
- Excellent oral, written, grammatical communication.
- Highly developed computer skills:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Docu Sign, Raiser’s Edge, ODDER, Thank View. - Confidentiality & discretion – handle sensitive information.
- Organization & attention to detail – prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Professional communication – expertise in grammar, editing, fostering positive relationships.
- Shift: Days/M-F (outside normal business hours may be required).
- Pay Band: B8.
- Salary Range: $45,400–$55,000 annually.
- Recruitment Period: 12/22/25–Until Filled.
